Museo Textil De Oaxaca Co-Design Across Culture
September 2021 – January 2022
Sharing traditions, finding a common language in the art of creating textiles, ten teams of traditional textile artisans in Oaxaca paired with ten artisan designers from Kutch. Sharing images of their homes and their work, and concepts of their imaginations each group developed a theme, and then designed and created a collection that expressed it. The exhibition displays extraordinary work that reflects cross-cultural inspirations for innovations within traditions.
Laxmiben Dinesh Parmar, Taraben Vijay Puvar, Tulsiben Pursushottam Puvar, Suresh Parbat Vankar, Irfan Anwar Khatri, Prakash Naran Siju, Pachan Premji Siju, Nitesh Namori Siju, Pravin Devji Siju, and Adil Mustak Khatri exhibit work inspired by their co-design experiences.
