Irfan learned block printing when he was fifteen. In 2005 he took the pilot design course at KRV. He thought out of the box, winning the Most Marketable Collection award. Irfan’s prints inspired by Taj Mahel screens went viral in the community. His current collection uses innovations of these patterns.

In 2005 he took the pilot design course at KRV. His clear, mature thinking made him president of the class. He dreamed of visiting many countries, he said. From course one, Irfan thought out of the box. He introduced Ajrakh on mashru and new products and won the jury award for Most Marketable Collection.

Irfan continued to grow and explore. He created prints inspired by Taj Mahel screens that went viral in the community, new ranges of natural colours, bold zoomed in patterns, and new ways of combining block print with bandhani. He sourced new fabrics. And he created a simple elegant block printed brand, IK.
