Bandhani Artist
A traditional bandhani artist, Adil studied design and business management. He revived the family tradition, launched his brand Nilak, and married classmate and fellow bandhani artist Zakiya. Though Kutch has many bandhani artists, the couple’s work is memorable.
Adil has won the Gujarat State and the Crafts Council of India Kamala Young Artisans awards, the World Crafts Council seal of excellence, and the AIACA Next-Gen Entrepreneur award. In 2021, he and Zakiya participated in the International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe.
